While trying to create a lock code for my phone I somehow locked my “sim” in the top left corner it now says locked sim how do i get that off? I have verizon and i dont have a sim card i have no clue what i did… HELP i need step by step instructions.

I would suggest to call your service provider for they can help you regain access to your iPhone. I really don’t know if you have entered the PIN code incorrectly but calling your provider can solve it for you.

If I were to get an iPhone 4s, what’s the best way for me to use it in Europe?
Hey folks, I’m currently a 2nd year college student and I am planning on studying abroad in Denmark for a year during the 2012/2013 school year with a potential slight break in the middle over the Christmas holiday. I would be leaving in August of 2012. I am under contract with Verizon until October of 2013. The rates for using a Verizon phone in Europe for an extended period of time are super expensive and the rep basically told me never to use an American phone in Europe because of the cost.
Now here are the few questions that I have:
1) What is the easiest way to be able to use the iPhone 4s I would buy here while I’m in Europe?
2) How much would a European cellular plan cost me for said iPhone 4s?
Basically I’m asking if I can buy an unlocked iPhone 4s in the States and take it to Europe to activate a plan on it and what the prices would maybe look like if that were the case. Would jailbreaking the iPhone 4s be the way to do it, or do I just buy a new phone with a contract in Europe?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

You can buy an unlocked iPhone from Apple, but instead of the regular $200 for the 16GB iPhone 4S, you will be paying $700, but you wont be tied to a contract. You can then find any GSM network in Denmark, get a plan, and pop their SIM card into the phone, then when you’re back in the States, put your regular SIM back into the phone.
Honestly, I’d be very wary about jailbreaking the phone. It’s a tricky process where you’ll probably have to downgrade your firmware, which can lead to a less secure phone with much less features. Jailbreaking/Unlocking your phone can also lead to your phone being permanently unusable.

So I have the Verizon iPhone 4s here in the US. I got to England once every year for 4-6 weeks (metro london to be specific). I obviously don’t want to use my phone there because the roaming is unreasonably high. So i wanted to know if there was a carrier that was quick an easy. all i want is to do is land in England and go to my local tesco’s and get a pay as you go sim and put it in my phone and be ready to go. I was looking at the Vodafone free sim pay as you go but I’m still quite confused how that works. so do i just get this sim card, put it in my unlocked phone and then top up with one of the “freedom freebees”? all i want is a couple of minutes at at least 500mb of data… so could i just go to my tescos and buy one of these sims and then top up with one of the plans in the corner? https://freesim.vodafone.co.uk/orders/add?package_id=5&tracker=58f8dj&cid=&prefill=

The best prepaid carrier for iPhone is StraightTalk as they provide SIM for both T-Mobile and AT&T phones. But you can’t unlock the phone and so bad luck !!

One of them has a modem firmware of 01.59.00 & the other is 04.11.08 they are both version 5.0.1

The only one that cam be unlocked is the 1.59.00 baseband
goto jailbreakmatrix.com and click charts,then choose your iphone and firmware and download the program it tells you…probably sn0wbreeze to preserve your baseband.
The Other one cant be unlocked,but if your in PA i have one that’s unlocked,but i use att so i dont need an unlocked one..id trade you.
